Lyrics

I was so high, I did not recognize
The fire burning in her eyes
The chaos that controlled my mind
Whispered goodbye as she got on a plane
Never to return again
But always in my heart

This love has taken its toll on me
She said goodbye too many times before
And her heart is breaking in front of me
I have no choice ’cause I won’t say goodbye anymore, woah, woah, woah

I tried my best to feed her appetite
Keep her coming every night
So hard to keep her satisfied
Oh, kept playing love like it was just a game
Pretending to feel the same
Then turn around and leave again

But, oh, this love has taken its toll on me
She said goodbye too many times before
And her heart is breaking in front of me
I have no choice ’cause I won’t say goodbye anymore woah, woah, woah

I’ll fix these broken things
Repair your broken wings
And make sure everything is alright
My pressure on your hips
Sinking my fingertips
Into every inch of you
‘Cause I know that’s what you want me to do

This love has taken its toll on me
She said goodbye too many times before
Her heart is breaking in front of me
I have no choice ’cause I won’t say goodbye anymore

This love has taken its toll on me
She said goodbye too many times before
My heart is breaking in front of me
She said goodbye too many times before

This love has taken its toll on me
She said goodbye too many times before
Her heart is breaking in front of me
I have no choice ’cause I won’t say goodbye anymore

Although the age of the group is not so great, but the prehistory of the collective dates back to the 90s. Four school friends Levin, Carmichael, Madden, and Ryan Dusick formed a band called Kara’s Flowers in 1995, performing youth rock.

Having signed a contract with the label Reprise, the musicians together with the legendary producer Rob Cavallo (Rob Cavallo) recorded and released the album The Fourth World. However, despite the positive reviews by critics, the sales of the album were not so ambitious, and in 1999 the label terminated the contract with the group.

In 2001, Kara’s Flowers renamed themselves Maroon 5, joining the band’s new guitarist, James Valentine. In addition to changing the name, the group has changed its musical course somewhat, now the musicians produce adult alternative pop / rock.

Maroon 5’s 2002 debut album, Songs About Jane, became gold, platinum and multi-platinum in many countries. In 2003-2005, the first concert tour of the group, in support of the album Songs About Jane, followed by the release of the first live album of the band Live – Friday The 13th. In September 2006, Ryan Dasik left the group due to a hand injury, and Matt Flynn took his place.

Already having the status of a star group, Maroon 5 released their second studio album It Won’t Be Soon Before Long in May 2007, five years after the release of Songs About Jane. The band’s second album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 list. The album received a platinum certificate, and only 1.6 million copies were sold in the United States alone. In the summer of 2007, a new concert tour of the group (together with The Hives) in North America was organized.

The band in 2009 went to Switzerland to record the new album Hands All Over. It was released on September 21, 2010. The first single from the new album Misery was released on June 22, the second – Give a Little More – on August 17; The third single was the song Hands All Over, and on February 5, 2011, the fourth single was released – Never Gonna Leave This Bed.

During the participation of Adam Levin in the project The Voice, the band recorded a joint single with his colleague on the project – Christine Aguilera (Moves Like Jagger (feat. Christina Aguilera)), who then entered the re-release of the album Hands All Over. The song premiered on June 21, 2011, the video was released on August 8.
